As from 30 April 2012, auditors employed by Scottish Court Service will not be allowed to undertake private work, relative to assessing fees at the request of solicitors or extrajudicial taxations on a joint remit from solicitor and client.
Any firms whose terms of engagement state that fees will be assessed by the auditor of court must review those now, particularly so in relation to executry work. Grieve & Co Ltd are more than willing to step in and provide such a service. John Sorrie, SLA TEP is our expert in this field with 35 years experience in the Trust and Executry administration. Being a Licensed Executry practitioner he is best placed to know what goes on in the administration of a deceased’s estate and how important matters are to client.
